Our Massages

Deep Tissue

60 minutes $85       90 minutes $120

A firm-pressure therapeutic massage involving stretching and myofascial technique (manipulation of connective tissue). Helps alleviate pain, muscle spasms, stress, inflammation, and tissue damage. Great for anyone with soft tissue problems that produce discomfort and pain

Swedish

30 minutes $45      60 minutes $65

A hands-on full body massage of medium pressure. Relieves muscle tension, stimulates circulation, increases serotonin levels, improves muscle tone and promotes total mind and body relaxation. Typically appropriate for your first time.

Therapeutic

60 minutes $75      90 minutes $110

Manipulation of superficial layers of muscle and connective tissue to enhance their function and promote relaxation and well-being. Combination of relaxation and firmer-pressure in order to relieve tightness and soft tissue damage.

Craniosacral Therapy

60 minutes $75      90 minutes $110

Focuses primarily on the concept of primary respiration and regulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid by using therapeutic touch to manipulate the synarthrodial joints of the cranium.

Reflexology

60 minutes $75      90 minutes $110

Uses hand, thumb, and finger techniques to stimulate certain areas of the feet. These areas are believed to correspond to different parts of the body. The massage, then, is expected to promote health and well-being.

Reiki

60 minutes $75      90 minutes $110

Used to decrease pain, ease muscle tension, speed healing, and improve sleep. Reiki is sometimes used to help people who suffer from pain or discomfort from cancer or other diseases. Although Reiki is not a treatment for cancer, some people who have undergone chemotherapy treatment said they felt better and had less nausea after undergoing a Reiki session.

Lomi Lomi

60 minutes $75      90 minutes $110

Lomi Lomi is the Hawaiian word for “massage”, and it is part of a larger native Hawaiian tradition of healing and natural body care. According to Hawaiian tradition, all living beings are seeking a state of balance and love in the world. During a Lomi Lomi session, therefore, I focus on not only relaxing your body through gentle touch, but also reviving your spirit and filling your body with the energy of love.

Thai Table

During Thai massage, the therapist uses their body to move the client into a variety of positions. This type of massage includes compression of muscles, mobilization of joints and acupressure.

Prenatal

60 minutes $75      90 minutes $110

Prenatal Massage can help with the major changes that your body experiences during pregnancy by reducing stress, decreasing arm and leg swelling, and relieving muscle and joint pain. Massage may be particularly helpful during a time when medication and other medical options may be more limited.

Electrolysis

Bothersome, embarrassing hair is a problem that affects 90% of all men and women to some degree. Heredity is the key culprit, as well as medications, stress and normal hormonal changes that occur throughout the life cycle. The hair grows in cycles. It takes 10-12 weeks for hair to grow.

Electrolysis has been the traditional method of permanent hair removal for over a century and is still the medically recognized method.

How it works:

A small, sterile, disposable probe is gently inserted into each individual hair follicle where a mild electrical current destroys the hair’s regenerative cells, permanently destroying further growth.

10 minutes – $10

20 minutes – $20

30 minutes – $30

60 minutes – $50

Joanne Sousa-Rodgers

has over 20 years’ experience in the therapeutic massage industry. She is a graduate of the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, Mass. She is a licensed, nationally certified massage therapist and is a member of the AMTA (American Therapeutic Massage Association). Her specialty is working with deep tissue and myofascial release techniques. Having a private practice has enabled her to network with chiropractors, physical therapists and other healthcare practitioners to provide the ultimate in care services. Having been diagnosed at the age of 13 with scoliosis (curvature of the spine resulting in musculoskeletal discomfort and pain), Joanne has a personal, and eventually a professional, interest and desire to learn and apply the necessary education to provide prospective clients with a total healing approach to wellness. As a bilingual (Portuguese) therapist, she has created a more comfortable exchange and understanding with some of her clients as they express their concerns.
